CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee deeply mourn the demise of Smt MG Lalitha, retired Assistant Accounts Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Administration today (16.11.2022) early morning at her home town Guruvayur in Kerala.  She was 79 years.     

Port Blair, Nov. 15: A two week workshop on Bird Watching & Basic Ornithology organized by the Zoological Survey of India, A&N Islands Regional Centre under the Accelerate Vigyan, Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India got underway at the conference hall of the ZSI here today. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS as the chief guest inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Dr. R.S.C. Jayaraj, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, A&N Islands, and Dr. P. Vijayachari, Director, ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Nov 15: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to allow all candidates in Combined Recruitment Written Examination for filling various Group ‘C’ posts, even if there are errors in the name, printed on the admit card, by validating the person based on the photograph of the candidate printed on the Admit Card and the ID card.

Port Blair, Nov 15: Its yet another proud moment for the islanders as R Kashthuri Bhai, a class VIII student of GDMS Middle Point, Port Blair has brought laurels to the A&N Islands by securing 7th position in the 8th ICA Open Below 1700 Rating Chess Tournament held in Bangalore, Karnataka from 11 - 13.11.2022.  She remained undefeated in the tournament & scored 7 points out of 9 Rounds with five wins and four draws. She was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 12000/-, trophy and a certificate.
