Port Blair, May 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to order for repairs of the lone DG set in Champin village, which is presently witnessing total blackout.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that since the last three to four days the entire area of Champin Village of Nancowrie Island is witnessing total blackout after the lone DG Set developed technical snags.

Port Blair, May 5: Heavy to very heavy rain (7-20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Nicobar Islands and Heavy rains (7-11cm) likely at one or two places over Andaman Islands on 6th and 7th May 2022. This might be followed by thundersquall (speed reaching 50-70 Kmph) in one or two places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, May 5: The Govt. of India has abolished Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and introduced National Pension Scheme (NPS) w.e.f. 01st January 2004, which created anguish and disappointment amongst the Govt. Servants all over India. For withdrawal / abolish of National Pension scheme and reinstate the Old Pension Scheme, which is beneficial to all government servants and their dependent family members, the Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh, BMS is organizing a Mass Protest Rally on 07.05.2022 from State BMS Office, Near Krishna Mandir, Junglighat at 3.00 PM to Tiranga Park.

Port Blair, May 5: During RAT conducted on 59 passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 34 passengers, no positive case has been detected. At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 51 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.  At Helipad, 2 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.
