Port Blair, Jan 12: A team of Food Safety Officers conducted surprise inspections of hotels, restaurants, dhabas and other food vending premises at Swaraj Dweep from 07th to 09th Jan, 2021. They inspected around 59 restaurants, 04 dhabas and 26 nos. of other food vending establishments and noticed major and minor violations of the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules and Regulations.

Port Blair, Jan 12: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands UTGST Department conducted a multi locational search and seizure operation on a chain of Hotels and their sister concerns, having their premises at locations in Port Blair, Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep. During the operation, it was found that these firms are huge tax defaulters and are indulging in several non-compliance issues varying from wrong availment of Input Tax Credit; Non-payment of tax to the government; and non-filing/delayed filing of the mandatory statutory returns without paying appropriate returns.

A mighty spiritual personality, Swami Vivekananda became popular in the western world after his famous speech at the World’s Parliament of Religions held in Chicago in 1893.

Port Blair, Jan 12: A Beach Cleaning Drive was organised at Collinpur Beach on Sunday 10th January 2021 by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling in association with Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), MAKAM Youth Club, Stewart Gunj, Scuba Mantra and Andaman Dive Centre, North Bay.

Port Blair, Jan 11: A meeting of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held regarding the Andaman Marathon which is conducted in the month of February every year. This year, the members of the Chamber has unanimously decided that the Andaman Marathon is to be cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
