Port Blair, Dec. 29: CPI (M) has demanded that the Tiranga Park at Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair should be used only for holding public meetings, mass dharna, etc. by political parties and organizations and not to allow any kind of commercial activities in the Tiranga Park in future. In a letter sent to the Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council, Shri D. Ayyappan, State Secretary, CPI (M) drew the attention of the Secretary, PBMC to the exhibition-cum-sale organized by some traders at Tiranga Park, Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair recently.

As the event was conducted after a gap of two years due to the pandemic, the enthusiasm of the students was obvious. Winning the 100 meters’ sprint, Rohit Shil became the fastest student of the oldest school of the zone, whereas Tamanna emerged as the best sprinter among girls.

Port Blair, Dec. 29: Police Station Aberdeen staff have cracked a blind burglary case, which occurred at the residence of a senior citizen. The accused has been arrested and stolen articles recovered within 24 hours.

A burglary case was reported at PS Aberdeen that on 27/12/2022 a sum of Rs. 30,000/- has been stolen from the house of the complainant by breaking the door by some unknown persons. Upon the complaint, an FIR Vide No 234/2022 dated 27/12/2022 U/s 454/380 IPC was registered and immediately a team comprising of SI R. Dhiraj Kishen (IO), HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs Sandeep Lakra, Asish Singh and Shiv Kumar was constituted under the supervision of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen for the search of accused person and stolen money.

Eligible candidates who have already applied for the course and are desirous of availing the above seat have been directed to attend the counseling on the above-mentioned date and time.
