Nimbudera, July 26: Skill development training on Nursery Management and Propagation of Horticultural Crops was organized from 22 to 26 July, 2024 by ICAR-KVK Nimbudera, North & Middle Andaman under 100-days Action Plan with an objective to provide hands-on training of various propagation techniques in horticultural crops for rural youths. The program was inaugurated by Shri Shankar Mondal, Zila Parishad member, along with the Pradhan/Up-Pradhan, Shri Manojit Halder of Hari Nagar, Shri Debabrata Das of Swadesh Nagar and Shri Bibhuti Ranjan Biswas of Basantipur Gram Panchayat respectively.

Port Blair, July 26: Due to technical reasons, the schedule sailing of the vessel MV Long Island to Rangat via Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Strait Island, Kadamtala & Long Island on 27.07.2024 at 0700 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage from Rangat via same route on 28.07.2024 at 0700 Hrs to Port Blair has been cancelled. Passengers those who are holding the tickets of MV Long Island have been advised to cancel their tickets and get full refund.

Port Blair, July 26: Urgent maintenance and repair work in the 33 KV switchyard of Phoenix Bay Sub-Station will be carried out on July 27 Bay from 7 am to 10 am. During the work, power supply will be interrupted at part of Junglighat, Vijay Baugh, Dairy Farm complete, Dairy Farm Junction, CPWD Complex, Lamba Line, Ranchi Tikery, School Line complete, part of Minnie Bay, BSNL Telephone Exchange, Prem Nagar, Goalghar, Carmel School area, KV-I area, Murdakhari area, part of Gurudwara Lane, Bengali Club, Biggi Lane, Anthropological Museum, Middle Point, Link Road, VIP Road, Police Line, part of Junglighat, Dairy Farm Junction, CPWD Complex, Lamba Line, Ranchi Tikery, School Line complete & part of Minnie. This power outage is necessary to facilitate the maintenance and repair work of the 33 KV switchyard at Phoenix Bay Sub-Station.

Port Blair, July 26: The Electricity Department is currently facing a shortfall of 6 MW power generation. This shortfall is due to the shutdown of the 5 MW power plant operated by M/s. Sudhir Reddy Gent Set Consortium in order to start new contract, as well as a reduction in power supply from M/s. Express Genset Consortium Pvt. Ltd. (NVVN) hiring power plant from 10 MW to 9 MW. To manage this power deficit through the available power generation, the Electricity Department will exercise rotational load shedding of forty-five minutes (45), if required, on a daily basis as per the schedule given below in Port Blair and South Andaman area.
