Port Blair, July 25: High wave alert for flat Island of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. High waves in the range of 3.2 - 3.4 meters have been forecasted till 23:30 hours of 26-07-2024. People have been advised to be careful while doing marine operations and near shore recreation.

Power supply will remain suspended on July 26 from 8 am to 12 noon & on July 27 from 8 am to 3 pm at Hope town, Bambooflat, Stewartgunj, Wimberlygunj, Manarghat & Shoal Bay, Ferrargunj, Aniket, Jirkatang for construction of double pole structure of SBFG feeder, shifting of HT line of Panel-V and construction of new structure in Bambooflat Sub-station.

Port Blair, July 24: In an effort to improve Solid Waste Management in the city, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration inaugurated PBMC’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Brookshabad today in association with GIZ in the presence of Shri Sudeep Rai Sharma, Chairperson, PBMC, Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Secretary, PBMC and Shri Christian Kapfensteiner, Director of Sustainable Urban Development GIZ-India. Senior Officers from the A&N Administration, Councillors, PBMC officials and general public were also present.

Port Blair, July 24: The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray recently met Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of National Highways and Road Transport and requested him to sanction the long pending work of a bridge between Chatham and Bambooflat.

Ray also mentioned that the Islanders are having huge expectation from NDA government regarding the project.

Port Blair, July 24: The Model Career Centre (Employment Exchange), Directorate of Employment & Training conducted a Career Guidance Programme on July 19 at PM SHRI Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Prothrapur. The aim of the programme was to provide valuable insight to students on choosing appropriate career paths and the significance of skill training.

The programme commenced with an introduction by Smt. K. Binu, Vocational Guidance Officer, emphasizing the critical aspects of informed career decision. Students were encouraged to consider their interests, strength, and future goals while selecting career paths. Detailed information was provided on various vocational courses and the scope of employment opportunities. Students were also sensitized to get themselves registered on National Career Service (NCS) Portal.
