Whereas, it has been made to appear to me that there is an apprehension that anti-social elements may make their hideouts clandestinely in the residential/commercial areas of the North and Middle Andaman District. If suitable measures to prevent the same are not taken, the unlawful activities of these people can cause breach of peace and tranquility besides posing grave danger to human life and safety and injury to public property.

Mayabunder, July 23: In a dedicated effort to combat malnutrition among children, the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman distributed nutritional kits to all identified malnourished children at all the three sub-divisional levels. This distribution coincided with the launch of the ‘Kuposhan Mukt Panchayat’ campaign by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS.

Port Blair, July 23: On July 21, 2024, acting on an specific intelligence received from a reliable source, a police team comprising of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO, PS Crime & Economic Offence (C&EO), SI Parvash, SI, Mohd. Rahil Islam of PS Anti-Narcotics HC/Sanjay Kujur, HC/K. Venkateshwar Rao, PC/N. Thangaraj and PC/K. Rajendran, PC/Srinivas Rao conducted a raid at Lamba Line opposite Divyum Minor. During the operation, the team seized 5.770 Kgs. of Ganja from the possession of 1) Kartick Mistry S/o Late Gourango Mistry (69) yrs Farmer R/o Shantipur. Swadeshnagar, North & Middle Andaman 2) C. Ummar S/o C. Ahmed Kutty (48) yrs Forest Mazdoor R/o Lillypur, Haddo. They were promptly arrested on the spot following the due legal procedure as per the new criminal laws.

Port Blair, July 23: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has raised a critical concern regarding the accommodation of the pregnant women who are referred from inter-islands to Port Blair.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Halder highlighted the significant challenges these women and their families face in securing suitable accommodation during their stay for medical consultations and treatments at Port Blair.
