Port Blair, Aug 18: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in association with Directorate of Education going to celebrate National Sports Day 2023 on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand (Hockey Wizard) on 29th August, 2023. In this connection the Department of Sports will organize different sports activities in a week long programme.

The following sports discipline will be organizing a part of National Sports Day – 2023

Port Blair, Aug 18: Few seats in all categories except Category-II for admission to B.A. B.Ed. English, Hindi and History, B.Sc. B.Ed. Mathematics and Computer Science are lying vacant in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair for the academic session 2023-24. The details of these vacant seats are displayed on the College Notice Board and also uploaded in the Common College Admission Portal.

Port Blair, Aug 18: Patriotic Dance & Patriotic Music competition proposed to be organized on Aug.19 & 20, 2023 by the Department of Art and Culture & Kala Kendra Society has been postponed. The new date will be intimated to all the artistes and cultural groups who have applied for taking part in the competition.

Port Blair, Aug, 18: The Andaman & Nicobar Football Association will be organizing a selection trail for the upcoming Senior Women’s National Football Championship on 27th Aug. 2023 from 9.00 am onwards at JNRM Football Ground. All the Districts, Departments, Clubs, Services and villagers are requested to send their players for the selection trail at the above mentioned date, time and venue.

Port Blair, Aug 18: The Material Production and Distribution Division (MPDD), IGNOU, New Delhi has dispatched the study materials through speed post. A large number of packets are lying at Regional Centre, Port Blair due to incomplete/ change in address, the study material packets are returned by the Postal Department to the Regional Centre Port Blair Office, as undelivered packets.  The students who have not received his/her study materials are advised to visit IGNOU, Regional Centre, Port Blair to check the study material return packet list and to collect the same return packets during working hours.
