Port Blair, Sept. 12: Working towards a brighter future for the children of our society, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi provided Furniture, Note Books and Text Books to an ongoing free coaching classes organised in Bathubasti by the area Councilor Shri V.Vetrivelu of Ward No 19. The Councilor had approached Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR and briefed him about the classes and that furniture is needed for the children to sit and study in the classes.

Port Blair, Sept. 12: Shri G. Sudhakar, IAS, Secretary (Fisheries), A&N Administration along with Director of Fisheries and officials of Department of Fisheries visited Dundus Point, Mannarghat and Shoal Bay to take stock of assets created by the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in South Andaman District. In Dundus Point, the Secretary (Fisheries) inspected the Ice Plant of 18MT constructed by Shri. Dharmalingam, M/s DSN Ice Plant with financial support under PMMSY. He enquired about the local demand and mode of distribution of ice from the unit and advised the beneficiary to provide ice to the local fishermen at reasonable price. It was also directed to encourage more beneficiaries under the programme to meet the growing demand of ice due to increase in fishing activities in the Islands.

Port Blair, Sept. 12: Under ADIP Scheme, the CRC-A&N Islands in coordination with the Social Welfare Department and Education Department will be organising Distribution Camp of Aids and Appliances on Sept. 17, 2022 in the Conference Hall of CRC-A&N Islands, Brookshabad.

Shaheed Dweep, Sept. 11: As part of ‘Clean Coast, Safe Sea’ campaign, a Beach Cleanliness Drive was conducted today at Laxmanpur Beach, Shaheed Dweep, South Andaman. The drive was led by Shri Rahul Dev Boora and Shri Vinayak Chamadia, Probationer IAS Officers, A&N Administration along with In-Charge, Hawabill Nest Yatri Niwas, Shaheed Dweep, Shri M Madhavan, Pradhan, Smti Pinkey Das of Gram Panchayat, Shaheed Dweep, Police personnel, Forest officials, Life Guards and Tourism stakeholders.

Port Blair, Sept. 12: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration will be observing ‘Hindi Fortnight-2022’ from September 14 to 28, 2022 in its offices and educational institutions. As part of the observance, various programmes have been chalked out for officers, employees of the Administration and students. The programmes to be organized include Hindi essay competitions for Tamil, Telugu & Bangla medium students studying in Class 6th to 8th and Class 9th to10th of Headquarter area on Sept.15, 2022. Hindi typing competition for employees of A & N Administration on Sept.16 at Hindi Typing Training Centre of Official Language Department, Archives Building, Secretariat.
