Sri Vijaya Puram, July 15: To commemorate International Chess Day on 20th July, the Directorate of Education, in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA), will be organizing an Open Blitz Chess Tournament on Sunday, 20th July, 2025, from 3 pm onwards here at the Marina Park Walkway.
The event highlights the educational value of chess in building focus and critical thinking, while encouraging community participation and celebrating the global importance of the day.
The tournament is open to all, and there is no entry fee. However, AICF registration for the year 2025–2026 is mandatory, and participants must wear a white T-shirt as a symbol of unity and sportsmanship.
