
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 29: In a significant step toward revitalizing the legacy of the Trade Union in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a workers meeting was organized by the INTUC Federation at Gandhi Bhawan under the dynamic leadership of Shri TSG Bhasker, National Vice-President, INTUC Federation, Shri. K.P Usman, State President, INTUC Federation and Shri. Anand Rao, Vice-President, INTUC Federation.
The meeting focused on strengthening trade unions across various departments in the Islands, with the clear objective of empowering workers and restoring INTUC’s historic presence and influence in the region.
Shri TSG Bhasker and Shri. K.P Usman emphasized the critical role INTUC has played in upholding the rights and welfare of workers across the country and stressed the need for renewed activism and unity among workers in A&N Islands.
Other Key speakers at the event were Shri Mohd Rafique, Working President, INTUC Federation, Shri Mohd Zubair, President, City Congress Committee, Smt. M Bindu, Vice-President, INTUC Federation and Shri Ibrahim Kolakkatil (Baba), President, DSS Dockyard Employees Union.
Workers from the Chatham Saw Mill, DSS Afloat Section, DSS Dockyard Section, Agriculture Department, Mini Zoo and several other departments actively participated in the meeting and voiced their support for the Federation’s mission to bring renewed energy and cohesion among the Island’s workforce.
