Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 13: The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism, in collaboration with the Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs & ULBs and the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, will be organizing the Island Beach Games–2026 at Wandoor Beach (South Andaman) and Ramnagar Beach at Diglipur (North & Middle Andaman) on Oct. 30 & 31, 2026, as part of the approved Tourism Calendar of Events. The two-day event aims to promote beach tourism, sports, healthy recreation and community participation, while showcasing the potential of Wandoor and Ramnagar beaches as attractive destinations for beach-based sporting and recreational activities.
The event at Wandoor will be organised in coordination with the local Administration, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and other concerned stakeholders, while the event at Ramnagar will be coordinated by Assistant Commissioner Diglipur, North & Middle Andaman, with the support of the local administration and community representatives.
As part of the Island Beach Games–2026, various sporting competitions, including Beach Volleyball, Tug of War, Arm Wrestling and 100-Metre Sprint, will be conducted in both Men’s and Women’s categories. Winners of the various competitions will be suitably awarded. The Directorate of IP&T has invited local youth, residents and interested participants to actively participate in the Island Beach Games–2026 in both the places and make the event a grand success.
