Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 26: The Island Beach Games were scheduled to be held at Wandoor and Ramnagar, Diglipur on Oct. 30 and 31 by Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with District Administration (N&M Andaman), Sports & Youth Affairs and Rural Development and Panchayat has been postponed due to the adverse weather forecast issued by India Meteorological Department, Met. Centre Sri Vijaya Puram. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in the interest of public safety and to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. The revised dates will be announced shortly.
However, as mentioned in the earlier Press Release, interested participants for the events like Beach Volleyball, Tug of War, Arm Wrestling and 100-Metre Sprint etc. at Wandoor Beach may contact Shri Khalid, Coach, Sports & Youth Affairs – 9434290640, while those interested in participating in the events at Ramnagar Beach, Diglipur, may contact Shri Bijoy Halder, Block Development Officer (BDO), Diglipur, for further information and registration.
