Selem, Jan 13: A remarkable achievement was recorded by Global Academy of Modern Fitness, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, at the 3rd Okinawa Gojuryu Karate Do Federation National Level Championship, held at Salem, Tamil Nadu, on 11th January 2026.
A total of 23 players from the academy participated in the championship, and all 23 athletes returned with prizes, creating history for the islands.
In the Kata category, the performance was extraordinary, with all 23 participants securing 1st Prize. In the Kumite category, the athletes demonstrated exceptional fighting spirit: 3 players secured 1st Prize, 5 players secured 2nd Prize and 15 players secured 3rd Prize.
Overall, the team brought home a total of 46 prizes, proudly representing the Andaman & Nicobar Islands at the national level. This outstanding accomplishment highlights the dedication, discipline, and high training standards of the athletes and coaches of Global Academy of Modern Fitness, bringing great honor to the islands on a national platform.
