
Rangat, Nov. 9: On 08.11.2025, a Jan Sunwai was conducted at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Rangat chaired by Smti. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police (District), North & Middle Andaman, in the presence of Shri Chandan G.S, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Rangat and Inspector Mohd. Sameer, SHO, PS Rangat.
The event witnessed active participation of over 45 individuals, including Pradhans, PRI members and local residents from various villages of Rangat. Participants raised concerns regarding the recent fire incident, drug abuse, illegal liquor, traffic management, the need for enhanced police visibility etc were discussed.
The SP (D), N&MA assured the gathering that all genuine concerns will be duly examined and necessary action will be taken in coordination with relevant departments. She emphasized that the Police Department is committed to maintaining peace, safety, and public trust through community engagement and responsive policing.
In her concluding remarks, SP (D) N&MA urged all participants to extend their cooperation by promptly sharing any credible intelligence regarding drug abuse, criminal activities or other unlawful practices in their areas. She emphasized that timely information from the public would enable the Police to take firm legal action against offenders and help in creating a safer and crime-free society for all.
The general public is requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. The identity of the informers will be kept secret and will also be suitably rewarded.
