Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 28: JNRM observed World Tourism Day 2026 with a beach-cleaning drive and a seminar on responsible and sustainable tourism. Faculty members and students took part in a cleanliness drive at Marina Park Beach yesterday, collecting plastic and other waste, which was handed over to the Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC) for proper disposal.
The Department of BBA Tourism organized a seminar today with participation from tourism industry and Forest Department professionals. Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, delivered the keynote address and spoke on hospitality and the role of technology in enhancing guest services.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Seemanta Kumar Deka, HOD, BBA Tourism, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. P. Abdul Salam.
