JNRM Organises Tree Plantation Drive as Part of International Year of Cooperatives and Van Mahotsav

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 2: As part of observance of the International Year of Cooperatives, a district-level Tree Plantation Drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Plant4Mother) and Van Mahotsav was organized today in the premises of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya (JNRM), Sri Vijaya Puram. The event was organized by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Urban), Sri Vijaya Puram.

The Chief Guest of the event was Shri Ravinder Kumar, DRCS (HQ)/Director (Social Welfare). The occasion was also graced by Principal (JNRM) and senior faculty members of JNRM, Assistant Registrars of Cooperative Societies and Inspectors of Cooperative Societies (Urban), student volunteers and representatives from various cooperative societies, showcasing a strong spirit of cooperation and community engagement. Shri Bashir Ahmed, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Urban) welcomed the chief guest and all the dignitaries present at the event.

Under the “Plant4Mother” initiative, 25 saplings were planted within the campus as a heartfelt tribute to mothers, reinforcing the commitment of the cooperative movement towards environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The celebration of Van Mahotsav further emphasized the importance of tree plantation and collective responsibility for a greener tomorrow.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Kandi Muthu, Assistant Professor, who expressed sincere appreciation to all dignitaries, faculty members, cooperative representatives and volunteers for their enthusiastic participation and support in making the event a grand success.
