
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 7: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO), in collaboration with the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), successfully organized a Legal & Cyber Awareness Seminar for Tourism Stakeholders at the ZSI Auditorium, Port Blair.
The seminar was organized under the initiative of ADTOI’s National Growth Committee for Chapters (NGCC) and coincided with the 29th Foundation Day of ADTOI. On this occasion, Shri M. Vinod, President of AATO, delivered the welcome address and briefed the audience about the role and growth of ADTOI over the years. He emphasized ADTOI’s commitment to the development of domestic tourism and how the association has become a national platform for tour operators with pan-India representation.
The Chief Guest, Shri Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (South Andaman / Traffic), addressed the gathering on crime and public safety, especially in the context of the tourism industry. He encouraged operators to remain alert and cooperative with law enforcement to ensure a safe environment for tourists and locals alike.
Sub Inspector Dinesh Kumar Jaiswal from the Cyber Crime Police Station, South Andaman, highlighted several recent cases of cybercrime affecting tourists and service providers. He stressed the urgent need for digital awareness, data protection, and safe transaction practices within the tourism sector.
Advocate Maheshwar Lall, Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, educated stakeholders on legal safeguards, arbitration, and the importance of drafting proper policies, terms and conditions in all business dealings to protect both operators and tourists.
The session was well-attended by members of the tourism fraternity, marking a significant step toward promoting legal awareness and cyber safety in the tourism sector of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
