
Kolkata, July 1: Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency participated as Chief Guest in the 8th Anniversary celebration of GST introduction, today at Kolkata, representing the jurisdiction of CGST Kolkata zone, which covers West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, A&N Islands presented Commendation Certificates to Officers/Tax payers. In his key note address, the Lt. Governor emphasized that GST has excelled its role as a tax, evolving into a symbol of India’s cooperative federalism, a platform for economic equality, and a catalyst for formalization and growth, echoing Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji’s vision. GST is a milestone in realizing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s dream of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, fostering a unified and prosperous India, making way for the vision of Viksit Bharat becoming a 5 trillion economy, the Lt. Governor added.
