
Bambooflat, April 13: The Andaman and Nicobar Mahila Congress Committee, under the dynamic leadership of its President Smt. Zubaida Begum, successfully organised a vibrant Women Empowerment Programme at Beodnabad Panchayat. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local women from the Panchayat.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest Shri Rangalal Halder, President of ANTCC, who highlighted the crucial role of women’s in nation-building and emphasized the need for empowering women through education, skill development, and equal opportunities. He encouraged women to come forward, raise their voices, and actively participate in social and political spheres.
Smt. Zubaida Begum also highlighted several key issues during the event, emphasizing the need for unity among women and greater participation in leadership roles at the grassroots level. She motivated women to take advantage and become financially independent.
The programme was further dignified by the presence of District President Shri John Robert Babu, ANTCC Spokesperson Shri. Tamil Selvan, Mahila Congress Senior Leaders Smt. Pushpanjali Raju, Smti. Neela Devi, Smt. Malati Mondal, Smt. Somari Devi, Smt. Shanti & Smt Vasanta along with Mahila Congress Executive Members and several Mahila leaders and Workers. On this occasion, Smt. S.K. Sheela, Secretary, Mahila Congress, and Smt. Pachimaal, Secretary, Mahila Congress, were awarded mementos in recognition of their outstanding work as dedicated leaders of the Mahila Congress.
On this occasion, many locals also joined the Mahila Congress, reflecting growing support and enthusiasm among the younger generation.
