
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 17: The District Administration, South Andaman, continues its unwavering efforts to safeguard public land and preserve community spaces across the district. As part of its sustained drive against encroachments and illegal occupations, the Administration has been maintaining a strict vigil and carrying out regular field inspections to identify and reclaim government land from unauthorized possession.
A major eviction drive was carried out today at Radhanagar village, Swaraj Dweep. The Revenue Official successfully evicted encroachments over an area measuring approximately 2,000 square meters of Government Revenue Land. During the eviction drive, the revenue team detected and removed unauthorized arecanut and vegetable plantations that had been raised over Government land. The area has now been restored to its original condition.
The District Administration has further cautioned that strict legal action will be initiated against individuals or groups found to be engaging in unauthorized occupation or misuse of Government land. In this regard, the cooperation of the general public is being earnestly sought to identify and report any such illegal activities taking place in their localities.
