Mayabunder, July 4: As part of the occasion of Van Mahotsava, the Forest Division, Mayabunder is organizing various awareness and environment conservation programmes throughout the month of July. The programme commenced on 1st July 2026 with banner displays at Mayabunder Bazar, Tugapur Junction and Karmatang Village.
A tree plantation drive with villagers was held today at Lucknow Village. More than 70 fruit-bearing saplings were planted on the land of Shri Toony Aungying, R/o Panighat, in the presence of Divisional Forest Officer, Mayabunder, Shri A. C. Tilak, IFS and neighbourhood villagers and the staff and workers of Mayabunder Division. Similar drives will be held at Webi Village on 11th July and Karmatang-10 Village on 18th July.
In addition, ‘beautification of Government institutions and private household’ and “Interaction with Children” programmes have also been scheduled. The Mayabunder Forest Division has appealed to all villagers, educational institutions and the general public to participate enthusiastically in the programmes, collect ornamental & fruit bearing trees saplings from the nearest forest nursery free of cost & plant the same in their premises.
