Sri Vijaya Puram, April 15: Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray successfully completed his Self-Enumeration under the ongoing self-enumeration exercise of 1st Phase of Census 2027, setting a strong example for public participation and reaffirmation of commitment to accurate and comprehensive data collection.
Appreciating the digital initiative of Census, Shri Ray praised easy and simple interface of Self enumeration portal. The Self-Enumeration (SE) portal is active from 1st April to 15th April, 2026, in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The house to house field enumeration of under Houselisting & Housing Census (HLO) shall thereafter start from 16th April, 2026 and shall continue for 30 days.
Residents of A&N Islands are encouraged to complete Self-Enumeration within the stipulated timeline and extend full cooperation during the HLO phase, when enumerators visit their households.
A press-brief from Directorate of Census Operations, A&N Islands has advised residents to beware of misinformation and no official will request identity documents, bank details, OTPs, or financial information. All data shared will remain confidential under the Census Act, 1948.
