Sri Vijaya Puram, May 29: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) under the District Administration, South Andaman, organized a felicitation ceremony to celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of children from various Child Care Institutions who appeared for the Class 10th and 12th Board Examinations in the academic year 2024–2025.
The ceremony was held on 29th May 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, South Andaman.
The occasion was graced by Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Chairman, District Child Protection Unit (South Andaman) who felicitated 21 meritorious students with tokens of appreciation in recognition of their academic excellence.
Among the awardees, special recognition was made of Gulam Rasool (89%), Barsha Das (78.2%) and R. Nivedha (77.8%), the top performers among the group. Their success reflected the transformative impact of dedicated learning, academic discipline and strong educational foundation fostered within the Child Care Institutions
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated all the students and lauded their hard work and determination. He emphasized the importance of knowledge and the role of education in shaping a brighter future. “Make your loved ones proud,” he encouraged noting that such accomplishments not only uplift families but also serve as a source of inspiration for other children in the community. He reiterated that “hard work always pays off” and applauded the relentless efforts of both the students and their mentors.
He also appreciated the dedication of the in-charges of the Child Care Institutions and the DCPU team for their invaluable role in nurturing and guiding the children.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Gulam Rasool, one of the felicitated students, who expressed gratitude on behalf of all the children.
