MP Bishnu Pada Ray Expresses Gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; Urges Early Sanction of Phase-II CRF Works for A&N Islands

Sri Vijay Puram, Sept. 16: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways for according sanction of 90 works amounting to Rs. 49.98 crore under Phase-I of the Central Road Fund (CRF) on 28.08.2024.

Shri Ray stated that this sanction has brought immense relief and hope to the people of the Islands and has fulfilled the commitment made by the Hon’ble Minister during his visit to the Islands on 28.12.2024.

Further, the Hon’ble MP informed that the Andaman & Nicobar Administration has already submitted proposals for Phase-II, consisting of 40 works amounting to Rs. 113.29 crore, to the Ministry vide letter dated 11.09.2025. Since the Union Territory has limited budgetary resources, the MP has requested the Union Minister to kindly consider and approve the proposals at the earliest with financial sanction and administrative approval.

Shri Ray emphasized that sanction of Phase-II under CRF will greatly benefit the islanders by addressing their long-pending connectivity and infrastructure needs. He once again conveyed his sincere thanks to Shri Gadkari for his continued support and commitment towards the welfare and development of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
