Sri Vijaya Puram, May 11: Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, in continuation of the foundation stone laying programmes conducted earlier, had laid foundation stones for various road improvement and renovation works at 19 locations covering Hope Town, Shore Point, Bambooflat, Tapu Basti, Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj, Shoal Bay, Wright Myo and Mannarghat under the RCD, APWD Wimberlygunj Division on 9th and 10th May 2026.
Further, on 11th May 2026, the Hon’ble MP also laid foundation stones for special repair, renovation and improvement of link roads at 09 locations in the Municipal areas covering Haddo, Delanipur, Prem Nagar, Dairy Farm, School Line, Dollygunj and Old Pahargaon.
The funds for these developmental works were secured by the Hon’ble MP under the Central Road Fund (CRF) from the Ministry concerned with the assistance and support of the A&N Administration.
The villagers, commuters, PRI members, social workers and local residents appreciated the efforts of the Hon’ble MP and A&N Administration and expressed happiness over the initiation of these much-needed road works, which will significantly improve connectivity and facilitate smooth movement of commuters and vehicles in the respective areas.
