N&MA District Police Intensify Anti-Drug Drive; Diglipur Police Arrests Two

Diglipur, Sept. 6: North & Middle Andaman District Police continued its sustained anti-drug enforcement drive with two significant operations conducted on 05.09.2026.

Acting on reliable information, a police team led by SI Mohd. Rafique, In-Charge PS Diglipur, intercepted a person near Subashgram and recovered approx. 104 grams of suspected ganja from his possession. In another operation at Sagar Dweep, police recovered four suspected cannabis plants cultivated behind the house of a resident. Both accused were arrested, and cases were registered at PS Diglipur under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of contraband and identify other persons involved.

North & Middle Andaman District Police remains committed to a zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking. Intelligence-led operations and stringent legal action will continue across the district.

The public is urged to report drug related activities through 100 or 112 or the nearest police station. Informants’ identities will be kept confidential, and suitable rewards will be provided for actionable information.
