NCCI Submits Proposals to Royal Thai Consul General to Strengthen Trade, Tourism, Fisheries and Economic Cooperation

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 20: H.E. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, along with Chek Jeenaphan, Director of the Thai Trade Center, Chennai, and other officials of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, visited Sri Vijaya Puram from 18 to 22 May 2026.

During their visit to Sri Vijaya Puram, the Consul-General and her delegation paid a courtesy call on Prince Rashid, President of Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, on 19 May 2026.

During the meeting, the President of NCCI submitted a business proposal aimed at strengthening trade, tourism, fisheries and economic cooperation between Thailand and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The discussions also focused on future collaboration in seafood exports, sustainable fishing, island-based products, and investment opportunities for mutual development between Thailand and the islands.
