Car Nicobar, Sept. 17: On 16/09/2025, a Special Excise Raid/Jungle was carried out by the beat police team led by SI J Rama Krishna, PS Car Nicobar at three different places at Arong Village Car Nicobar. The operation was conducted with precision and thoroughness to combat illicit activities related to liquor.
During the raid, a significant quantity of 1050 liters of Lahan (fermented wash) was discovered from various concealed location in the jungle area near the house of the accused and promptly destroyed on-site, and 55 litres illicit liquor was seized with photographic evidence. Subsequently, in accordance with the Excise Regulation, three cases have been registered against the apprehended accused persons under the relevant section of Reg. III of 1876. This successful operation reflects the diligent efforts and zero tolerance towards illicit liquor by Police Station Car Nicobar to curtail the illegal distillation of illicit liquor.
The entire search operations were conducted under the supervision of Shri. Aditya Kumar, DANIPS, SDPO Car Nicobar and under overall supervision and direction of SP (D) Nicobar Shri. Rahul L Nair, IPS.
