
Car Nicobar, Nov. 9: On November 7, 2025, the most awaited 9th Edition of the Dr. B. Srikanth Rolling Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament commenced with great excitement and fanfare in the Nicobar District. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District along with Shri Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District and heads of other departments. Also present at the event was Shri Martin Luther, Chief of the Tribal Council, whose presence underscored the spirit of community and unity that this tournament represents.
This is the beginning of yet another exciting chapter in the journey of the prestigious Dr. B. Srikanth Memorial Rolling Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament-a celebration of team spirit, sportsmanship and unity. Organized by the Nicobar District Police in collaboration with the Nicobar Shopkeepers and Merchant Association, the tournament has, since its inception in 2016, stood as a symbol of harmony between the Police and the Public, serving as a bridge of trust, friendship, and cooperation with the local the Nicobari community.
As the 9th season unfolds, players and spectators alike pay a heartfelt tribute to Late Dr. B. Srikanth IPS, in whose memory this tournament is dedicated. During his tenure as Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, Dr. Srikanth embodied dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to public service. His untimely demise on April 10, 2013, was a great loss to the district and the policing fraternity.
This tournament, the Nicobar community continues to honor his legacy, carrying forward his vision of service, unity, and mutual respect.
