Maybunder, Dec. 15: As part of the ongoing flagship outreach initiative “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashashan Gaon ki Ore,” the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, organized a Public Grievance Redressal Programme at Government Primary School, Borang, on 13th December, 2025. The programme was chaired by Shri Sushant Padha, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman aiming to bring Governance closer to the residents of far-flung villages.
To reach the remote village of Borang, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by a dedicated team of officers from various line Departments, undertook a challenging trek of nearly one and a half hours through dense forest and uneven terrain. Their determined effort to personally engage with residents underscored the Administration’s commitment to inclusive development and citizen-centric governance.
During the interactive session, the residents of Borang raised several issues concerning essential civic and developmental activities. Each grievance was patiently heard in the presence of line Departments, ensuring coordinated on-the-spot responses from the concerned Departments. A number of issues were redressed instantly through departmental intervention, while those requiring inter-departmental coordination or higher-level approval were duly noted for appropriate follow-up action.
Borang, a small and picturesque village with a population of about 130 residents including children, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the entire community. The people expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for the Administration’s proactive initiative to visit their village and listen to their concerns first hand.
The “Sampark se Samadhan – Prashashan Gaon ki Ore” programme continues to serve as a vital platform for bridging the gap between the Administration and the public, ensuring that the benefits of governance reach even the most remote corners of the district.
