N&M District Administration Conducts Encroachment Eviction Drive at Kadamtala and Shantanu Villages

Mayabunder, July 7: The District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, conducted an encroachment eviction drive on 07.07.2026 at Kadamtala and Shantanu villages to reclaim Government land from unauthorized occupation.

During the drive, a total of approximately 0.190 hectare of Government land was restored from encroachment at three different locations. This included 0.040 hectare of hilly Government land under Survey No. 1016 at VKV Secondary School, Shantanu Village, where the encroachment consisted of banana, arecanut and mango plantations; 0.050 hectare of hilly Government land under Survey No. 329 at Bamboo Tikrey, Kadamtala Village, where surrendered land earmarked for road construction under VB-GRAMG had been encroached upon with arecanut plantations; and 0.100 hectare of Government land adjoining the blacktop road under the same Survey No. 329 at Kadamtala Village, where the land was being utilized for cultivation of vegetables, banana and arecanut plantations.

The eviction drive was carried out peacefully with the active support and coordination of the revenue officials and field staff.

The District Administration reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards encroachments on Government land and appeals to the general public to refrain from unauthorized occupation of Government property. Citizens are also requested to promptly report any instances of encroachment to the District Administration to facilitate timely action. The Administration remains committed to protecting public land and ensuring its proper utilization for developmental and public welfare purposes.
