Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 18: ‘North Bay Road Marathon 5.0 (Khel Ka Nasha) & Cycle Rally’ under the Directorate of Education & Sports, jointly organized by the Deputy Education Officer, Wimberlygunj, and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), is scheduled to be held on Nov. 23 at 6 AM. The event will take place along the scenic route from Chunnabatta (Ram Mandir) to North Bay and back.
The marathon is free for all Islanders as well as school students from the Wimberlygunj Educational Zone, with the following categories:
• 10 km Run: (I)Open to all men (Islanders Only) and (II) school boys of the Wimberlygunj Educational Zone
• 5 km Run: (III)Open to all women (Islanders only) and (IV)school girls of the Wimberlygunj Educational Zone
• Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.
Following the marathon, a Cycle Rally will also be organized. Participants must bring their own bicycles. SAI will distribute T-shirts to all participants. Registration will be done at the venue from 5 AM onwards.
