Rangat, May 19: The North & Middle Andaman District Police, in collaboration with the Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA), is proud to announce the 1st SP (North & Middle Andaman) District Open Chess Tournament 2025, scheduled to be held on 25th May 2025 at the Rangat Panchayat Hall.
This tournament represents a unique and forward-thinking initiative by the North & Middle Andaman District Police to encourage intellectual development, strategic thinking, and healthy competition among the youth and chess enthusiasts of the region. By organizing this event at the district level, the aim is to foster a deeper interest in the game of chess, which is not only a sport but also a powerful tool for enhancing cognitive skills such as concentration, problem-solving, and decision-making.
There is no entry fee for participation. However, all players must be registered with the All India Chess Federation (AICF) for the year 2025–26. Players not yet registered may do so through the AICF portal: https://prs.aicf.in/players. The last date for submission of entries is 23rd May 2025, by 5:00 PM.
