OPD Registrations at GB Pant Hospital to be Carried Out Exclusively Through ABHA/ Health ID

Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 11: The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, launched in 2021 with the objective of establishing a unified and integrated digital health ecosystem across the country. The mission seeks to address existing gaps among various stakeholders in the healthcare system by leveraging digital technologies and enabling standardized, secure exchange of health data.

Under ABDM, the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)/Health ID, provides citizens with a unique digital health identity. This enables secure access to personal health records and facilitates their seamless sharing across healthcare facilities, strictly based on patient consent.

In line with the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) in this Union Territory, it is hereby informed that all Outpatient Department (OPD) registrations at G.B. Pant Hospital, SVP, shall henceforth be carried out exclusively through the ABHA/Health ID. This initiative is aimed at ensuring faster OPD services, accurate patient identification, and secure digital sharing of medical records across healthcare facilities.

Patients visiting G.B. Pant Hospital, SVP, have been requested to carry their ABHA/Health ID, or the mobile number linked with their ABHA, or the Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OPD registration. To further enhance patient convenience, the Scan & Share feature has also been introduced at G.B. Pant Hospital, SVP, R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder and B.J.R. Hospital, Car Nicobar. Through this feature, patients can scan a QR code to generate an OPD token, thereby reducing waiting time and enabling quicker access to services.

Dedicated support staff have been deployed at the OPD registration counters of the above-mentioned hospitals to assist patients with Scan & Share and ABHA creation, wherever required.

Additionally, a separate ABHA/Health ID creation desk has been setup at the OPD of G.B. Pant Hospital. This desk will function from Monday to Friday between 3 PM and 4.30 PM, with staff deputed to facilitate ABHA creation. Patients may also create their ABHA/Health ID by visiting the official website https://abha.abdm.gov.in or by approaching the nearest Common Services Centre (CSC).

The cooperation of all patients and attendants is earnestly solicited to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of this important digital health initiative.
