Sri Vijaya Puram, June 5: Shri A.K Biswal, IFS, PCCF inaugurated ‘Van Sanchar’ in the presence of Shri Sanjay Kumar Sinha, IFS, PCCF, ANI. The current VHF network has been upgraded to HF network which has provided the wireless connectivity with the Nicobar group of Islands to the Department of Environment and Forests. This initiative will enhance the protection network, reduce the response time and improve the management of Forest in the Islands.
The Van Sanchar will also enhance Disaster preparedness of the Island as the Wireless Network of Forest Department is also a part of National Emergency Response System. With increasing development and work in Nicobar group of Islands, the network would play a crucial role.
