Mayabunder, Aug 17: On 16/08/2025, a Jansunwai meeting was held at Pokkadera Panchayat Hall under the chairmanship of Smti. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police (D) N&MA, along with Shri Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and SHO PS Mayabunder.
The meeting witnessed active participation from Pradhans, Up-Pradhans, PRI members, and local residents, with over 60 participants in attendance. Several issues of public concern were raised during the interaction, including drug abuse, drunken driving, poor condition of roads, demand for additional and extended trips of STS buses, stray cattle menace, construction of a speed breaker, establishment of a traffic park, counselling for drug addicts, and the need for proper parking arrangements. Participants also emphasized the requirement of more awareness programmes on drug abuse, alcohol addiction, and traffic rules in schools.
Addressing these concerns, SP(D) N&MA assured that necessary efforts would be taken to resolve the issues appropriately. She also conducted an awareness session on drug abuse and traffic discipline, highlighting that creating a drug-free and safe society is not solely the responsibility of the Police but a collective duty of every individual. She further appealed to the participants to extend their cooperation and coordination with the Police in curbing illegal activities and strengthening community safety.
