
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 14: As part of the ongoing efforts under National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, felicitated Police Entertainment Team in recognition of their outstanding contribution towards spreading awareness against substance abuse through creative and impactful performances. The felicitation ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Director, Social Welfare, who presented medal of appreciation to the team members for effectively promoting the message of a drug-free society. Through music, dance, entertainment and powerful social messages, the team has played a significant role in educating public, especially children and youth, about the harmful effects of substance abuse and importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, Social Welfare, appreciated the team’s dedication and emphasized that community participation and Inter-Departmental collaboration are key to achieving the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat. He noted that the innovative approach adopted by Police Entertainment Team demonstrates how awareness can be effectively communicated in an engaging and memorable manner. Directorate of Social Welfare encourages all Government Departments, Educational Institutions, Panchayati Raj Institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders to organize awareness programmes on drug abuse prevention. Under NAPDDR, the Directorate continues to extend support for such initiatives to strengthen the collective movement towards a drug-free society.
General public have also been encouraged to take the Nasha Mukt Bharat e-Pledge and inspire their family members, friends and colleagues to do the same. By becoming ambassadors of a drug-free lifestyle, every citizen can contribute towards building a healthier, safer and addiction-free India.
