Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 3: Demonstrating unwavering dedication and vigilance towards fight against narcotics substances, Police Station Pahargaon once again proved its mettle by conducting a successful raid at Attampahar, leading to arrest of a drug peddler in possession of a substantial quantity of illicit Ganja.
On 30/08/2025, Acting swiftly on credible intelligence regarding the sale of ganja in the Attampahar area, a raiding team was constituted, comprising of SI Manish Narayan, PSIs Nirmala & A. Santhosh, PCs Shiv Kumar & Santosh Lal, led by Inspector Mohd. Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon. The team immediately rushed to the location and intercepted the suspect namely Al Yasin Yousuf (35 years) S/o Late Mohd Yusuf R/o Lamba Line, near Tandoor. A thorough search was carried out in the presence of a Gazetted Officer and independent witnesses, during which a brown parcel containing 1.170 kg of illicit ganja was recovered. The contraband was seized on the spot under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and accused was arrested after observing all legal and procedural formalities.
The entire operation was executed under the supervision of Shri Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, SDPO (SA) and overall command & guidance of Shri Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS Sr. Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
The South Andaman District Police reiterates its commitment towards its Zero Tolerance Policy against Narcotics and appeals to the general public to share any credible information regarding drug peddling with the nearest Police Station. The general public is also requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-236641. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
