Police Station Pahargaon Cracks Blind Murder Case Through Sustained Investigation in 24 Hours

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 4: Following the directions of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor A&N Islands regarding Zero tolerance against Crime and Criminals, Police Station Pahargaon has successfully solved a blind murder case through sustained investigation and systematic analysis of digital, CCTV, forensic and circumstantial evidence within 24 hours.

On 02.10.2026, following the recovery of the dead body of the deceased namely Julius Kerketta @ Vinod S/o Late Martin Kerketta aged 37 years R/o Tambu Bijan, Brookshabad from the jungle near Tsunami Shelter-1, Brookshabad, an FIR was registered at PS Pahargaon. An investigation team was immediately constituted to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. Several persons connected with the deceased were questioned and their movements and communications prior to the incident were thoroughly examined by the investigating team.

After detailed analysis of CDRs and extensive examination of CCTV footage along the routes connecting the residences of the deceased, a woman was identified as the prime suspect. The CCTV footage was carefully correlated with CDRs, witness statements and other available evidence, which helped establish the sequence of events and the involvement of the prime suspect namely Prem Sheela @ Teli Aunty in the murder of the deceased. During sustained questioning, the prime suspect disclosed her involvement in the death of the deceased.

The case was successfully worked out through the coordinated efforts of the investigation team comprising Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO, PS Pahargaon; SI Siva Kumar, Investigating Officer; SIs Ashwani, Goutham and Nirmala; ASIs Ajay Anand and Mohan Yadav; HCs Simachalam, Jairaj, Rahul Kumar Maurya, Santosh Lal, Sini Raju and Sangeeta Dung Dung; and PCs Shahid, Samsudeen and Gafoor.

The investigation was carried out under the supervision of Shri Abhijeet Sirohi, IPS, SDPO, South Andaman and Smt. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman.
