Prime Minister Narendra Modi Interacts with Sportspersons and Youth Across the Country during Khelo India Samvaad

Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 27: My Bharat Sri Vijaya Puram organised Khelo India Samvaad at DBRAIT, during which the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi interacted virtually with sportspersons and youth from across the country. The programme provided an opportunity for participants to witness and engage with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s interaction with the sporting community.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, and Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Secretary (IP&T), along with my Bharat officials, youth representatives, My Bharat volunteers and sports enthusiasts.

The programme highlighted the importance of sports in youth development and encouraged young people to pursue sporting excellence. Eminent sportspersons, including Ms. Sandhya Kispotta, Shri Karma Topo and Shri K.P. Mamu, and Athletes from SAI Sri Vijaya Puram also joined the event and shared their association with the sporting community.

During the programme, a Nasha Mukt Pledge was also administered to the participants, reaffirming the collective commitment towards building a healthy and drug-free society. The pledge was administered by Hon’ble MP, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray. After virtual interaction of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Youth Icon Harish Kumar had moderated discussion with sports persons. During the programme, Secretary (IP&T), Shri Vinayak Chamadiya briefed the gathering about ‘Gems of India Challenge’ 2026.

The programme served as an important platform to inspire the youth towards sports, fitness, discipline and a healthy lifestyle, while encouraging greater youth participation in nation-building activities. The programme saw participation of approximately 700 students at DBRAIT and 100 students at TGCE.

At the Conference Hall of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), Shri Prakash Adhikari, Ex-Zila Parishad Adhyaksh and Zila Parishad Member, graced the programme as the chief guest. Dr. Saniya Subash, Intern, ANIIMS, and an accomplished Sqay martial artist, Smti. M. Bhavani, a Para Athlete from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participated as Youth/Sports Icon.
