Proposals Invited for Setting up of Food Testing Laboratories with NABL Accreditation

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 7: The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India, New Delhi published Expression of Interest (EOI) inviting proposals from eligible prospective entrepreneurs for setting up of Food Testing Laboratories with NABL accreditation under scheme for Food Safety and Quality Assurance Infrastructure (FSQAI) of “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)”.

Any private sector Organization or entity intending to set up a food testing laboratory exclusively for commercial food testing purposes are eligible subject to the terms and conditions stipulated in the guideline at Clause 2. As per the Pattern of Assistance defined in Clause 5 of the Guideline, Assistance will be provided for the following components subject to a maximum of Rs. 5 crore per project.

Equipment: General Areas: 50% of eligible equipment cost Difficult Areas/ SC/ST/ FPOs: 70% of eligible equipment cost

Technical Civil Work (TCW) and Furniture & Fixtures: Expenditure proposed by the applicant, subject to maximum of 2% of eligible cost or Rs. 15.00 Lakhs, whichever is lower

NABL Registration Fee & CRM: Registration fee including GST for obtaining NABL accreditation and one-time procurement of Certified Reference Material (CRM), essential for obtaining NABL accreditation.

Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)   A Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is a software-based platform used to manage, track, and document laboratory operations and data efficiently. It supports functions such as sample registration, test allocation, result entry, report generation, data storage, and quality control. LIMS ensures accuracy, traceability, and transparency in laboratory workflows and helps maintain compliance with standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL requirements.

Application supported with documents as indicated in Clause 6 of the Guideline is required to be uploaded on the Sampada Portal of the Ministry of Food processing Industries. No physical application/document(s) will be accepted by Ministry.

Interested applicants may submit proposals through online mode only in accordance with the scheme guidelines dated Nov. 12, 2025, as available on the Ministry of Food Processing Industries’ website (https://www.mofpi.gov.in) at https://www.sampada-mofpi.gov.in/ with relevant details (under appropriate headings) under ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana’ on or before Jan. 20, 2026 by 1700 hrs.
