Diglipur, April 19: The North & Middle Andaman Police have successfully cracked a blind hit & run case within 24 hrs, identified accused and recovered offending vehicle.
A hit-and-run case reported on 16th April, 2026 at PS Diglipur. Initially, the identity of the driver and vehicle was unknown, prompting the police to adopt a multi-pronged approach, including deployment of informers, analysis of CCTV footage from multiple locations, and coordination with local garage mechanics.
Despite challenges due to poor lighting at the accident site on Shyamnagar Road and no leads regarding involved vehicle, credible information supported by CCTV analysis led to the identification of the actual vehicle.
The accused, a resident of Madhupur has been identified and served notice under Section 35(3) of BNSS, 2023. The vehicle involved has been seized, and further investigation is in progress.
The general public is requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone No.100, 112 & 03192-273344. The identity of the informers will be kept secret and will also be suitably rewarded.
