Diglipur, April 29: On 28.04.2026, acting on credible information regarding the brewing of illicit liquor in the Talbagan forest area, a team from PS Kalighat promptly conducted a search operation near a creek in the area.
During the operation, approximately 425 litres of fermented wash intended for the preparation of illicit liquor was recovered from multiple containers. As no claimant was found at the spot, the recovered wash along with related articles was destroyed on site after following due procedure. The timely action prevented the illegal manufacture and possible circulation of illicit liquor in the region.
N&MA Police reaffirms its zero-tolerance policy against illicit liquor activities and will continue to take decisive and stringent action to curb such illegal activities across the district.
