
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 7: Ms. Purva Garg IAS, Deputy Commissioner /Chairperson One Stop Centre, South Andaman, inspected the One Stop Centre (OSC), South Andaman and reviewed its functioning, facilities, records and services being provided to women affected by violence. During the inspection, the Central Administrator briefed the Deputy Commissioner regarding the services provided by the Centre, including medical, legal, psychological, police assistance and temporary shelter.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman reviewed the records and registers and interacted with the staff regarding their duties, cases handled and manpower requirements. Directions were given for proper cleanliness and maintenance of the Centre, including the terrace, store room, kitchen and surrounding areas. The requirement for augmentation of infrastructure, including provision of an additional bathroom and dormitory facilities, was also discussed.
The status of power backup and repair/renovation works was reviewed and necessary directions were issued for expediting the requisite works to ensure uninterrupted and efficient functioning of the Centre. The SVPMC was also directed to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of the surrounding areas of One Stop Centre.
The inspection focused on strengthening the facilities and ensuring a safe, clean and supportive environment for the beneficiaries of the One Stop Centre.
