Rangat Police Raid Seizes Major IMFL Consignment

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 21: As part of its ongoing efforts to enforce excise laws and curb illegal liquor possession, the police team of PS Rangat led by Inspr Mohd. Sameer, SHO PS Rangat under the supervision of Shri Chandan G.S., DANIPS, SDPO Rangat carried out a raid on 20/06/2026.

During the operation, the team recovered 66 bottles of IMFL of various brands and sizes, including whisky and rum in 750 ml, 375 ml and 180 ml bottles from the possession of Bijendra Kumar Yadav (37) yrs S/o Shri R. N. Yadav, an Auto driver residing at Ward No. 5, Golden Street, Rangat. On being questioned, the accused failed to produce any valid permit or licence authorizing such possession, thereby violating provisions of the Excise Regulation. The seized liquor was taken into custody and a case was registered against him at PS Rangat.

On preliminary inquiry further revealed that the accused had previously been involved in an excise-related case at PS Rangat. The District Police remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate illegal liquor activities across the Islands through regular checks, surprise raids and targeted enforcement measures, ensuring strict compliance with excise laws.

The general public is requested to pass and share creditable information pertaining to crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or over phone NO. 100, 112 & 03192-273344. The identity of the informers will be kept secret and will also be suitably rewarded.
