
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 8: The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) organised a 5-Km College-Level Red Ribbon Run on 07 September 2026 under the aegis of the Red Ribbon Club, DBRAIT, in association with the Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society. The run, from DBRAIT Main Gate to Minnie Bay Junction and back, witnessed enthusiastic participation from Degree and Diploma students.
As part of the initiative, Shri Altamash Mustafa, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club and HOD, B.Tech Civil, conducted a brief sensitization session on HIV/AIDS control and prevention, enlightening students on the importance of awareness, prevention, correct information and eliminating stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
The event also aimed at promoting fitness, healthy lifestyle and social responsibility, besides identifying promising runners for the State-Level Red Ribbon Run scheduled on 11 September 2026.
The event was coordinated by Shri Altamash Mustafa as Overall Coordinator, with Dr. Sathish, Assistant Director, Physical Education, and Shri Saleem Baraik, Physical Training Instructor, as Physical Coordinators. Necessary arrangements for safety, discipline, hydration and first aid were made by the organising team.
The initiative reaffirmed DBRAIT’s commitment to youth empowerment, fitness and social awareness, under the guidance of Dr. Shanmukh Kaur, Principal, DBRAIT.
