Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair Donates Smart TV to GMS Hanspuri, Mayabunder

Mayabunder, Jan 29: Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair is happy to share the successful completion of its Smart TV handover project for Government Middle School (GMS), Hanspuri, Mayabunder, reaffirming the club’s commitment to strengthening education through meaningful service initiatives.

The handover took place at the Club President’s office, where Mr. Ravi, Teacher from GMS Hanspuri, collected the Smart TV on behalf of the school. The Smart TV was handed over by Rtn. Mandeep Grewal, Club President, along with Rtn. M. Vignesh, General Secretary, and Rtn. Dakshin Basker, Member of the Club.

GMS Hanspuri is located in a very remote and outskirt area of Mayabunder. Students and staff travel nearly three hours by dinghy boat to reach the school. The school functions on inverter and solar power, as regular electricity supply is available only after 5:00 PM. In such challenging circumstances, this Smart TV will significantly enhance digital and visual learning, helping students access better educational content and learning methods.

Commenting on the initiative, Rtn. Mandeep Grewal, President, Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair, said:

“Education is the strongest tool to transform lives, especially in remote and challenging areas like Hanspuri, Mayabunder. Through this Smart TV project, our aim is to bridge the digital learning gap and ensure that children, regardless of geography, get access to better learning resources. Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair will continue to work towards meaningful projects that create real and lasting impact.”

As a token of appreciation, Mr. Ravi presented a beautiful memento to Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair, a truly touching gesture acknowledging the club’s efforts and support.

Rotary Club Next Gen Port Blair continues to uphold the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self, working towards inclusive development and positive change across the islands.
