SBI Adopts 50 TB Patients and Donates Handheld Digital X-Ray to Enhance TB Screening among Vulnerable Populations

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 17: Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM, (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency chaired a function organized by State Bank of India under Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives today at Raj Niwas in the presence of Chief Secretary, A&N Islands and other senior officers of A&N Police, A&N Administration and SBI.

During the ceremony, 50 TB patients were adopted by SBI and handed over a replica cheque to Directorate of Health Services to provide nutritional support for one year under the “Nikshay Mitra Initiative” of TB under “Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan”.

Handheld Digital X-Ray was also handed over to enhance TB screening and diagnostic facilities among vulnerable populations in remote Island communities, and donated an Ambulance which was flagged off by Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands for PHC Campbell Bay to strengthen emergency and referral services in the southernmost Island of A&N Islands.
