
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 27: With a focus on women’s empowerment and promoting self-employment opportunities, the State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Sri Vijaya Puram, successfully organised a 12-day training programme on poultry farming at Guptapara Gram Panchayat.
The programme was specially designed for members of the NRLM Self Help Groups (SHGs), aiming to equip rural women with practical skills and income-generating opportunities in the livestock sector.
Dr. Shanjali served as the resource person for the training. She provided comprehensive guidance covering both theoretical aspects of poultry farming and hands-on practical exposure. Trainees were taken to poultry farms where they gained field experience, including demonstrations on vaccination procedures and the administration of medicines.
A total of 23 women participants from various SHGs successfully completed the training. The programme concluded today with an assessment to evaluate the skills acquired by the trainees.
During the valedictory function, Shri Durlab Das, Pradhan of Guptapara Gram Panchayat, distributed certificates to the successful participants and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired skills for economic self-reliance.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by SBI RSETI to strengthen rural livelihoods through skill development and entrepreneurship promotion, as communicated by the Director, SBI RSETI.
